About
Raised and residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, Christina’s works are inspired by the grounding beauty in nature surrounding her southern upbringing and formative background and degree in art and interior design. Her works come from a faith based center and focus primarily on smaller scale studies in watercolor, gouache, or oil on paper or loose canvas. Christina's paintings are built in layers of impressionist brushstrokes, delicate color washes, and distinctive watermarks with a focus on rendering the tension and motion of a captured moment in nature and the complex interactions of light and shadow. The subjects of florals, landscapes, skyscapes, and figures are intentionally abstracted with a desire to convey an ethereal peacefulness in their translation, to capture glimmers of “God winks” and moments of hope.
Painting has been a strong passion since childhood, the framework of which eventually became a calling for Christina to pursue a formal education in art and design. She has spent over a decade working in high end residential interior design honing her skill set and appreciation for storied craftsmanship and rich textural layers and color pairings while maintaining her practice of painting as a treasured pastime and the basis for her design explorations. Her lifelong love and pursuit of art and refined studio foundations reflect in her delicate attention to each of her paintings.
When not in the studio, Christina can be found with her high school sweetheart-turned-husband and their beloved dog, Captain, along with a treasure trove of family and close friends who have all always encouraged her to pursue this calling of creating art to live in the art of beautiful spaces.
