Inspiration behind the collection:

Summertime brings long stretches of daylight and sunsets lingering well into the early hours of the night. Inspired by the slow fade of the day's last crisp white clouds against brilliant blue fields into a coral-backlit ombré sky of dusk and stars, this collection reflects my daily routine of pausing to appreciate the reverence of the golden hour and beyond. A quiet moment of “God winks and whispers” in my day. 

Process creating the collection:

In her recent work, Christina utilizes layers of watercolor in varying degrees of washes and opacities to build a rich, layered depth in the pigments. She works on handmade, deckled-edge paper, which offers resistance to the brush's pull and adds extra texture to the cloud formations. The crisply taped borders are designed to evoke the nostalgia of watching the sky pass by slowly through the picture window in her breakfast nook, where she often finds herself painting, sometimes more often than her home studio.
